A well tuned pair of skis or snowboard will have you at the top of your game riding the groomers. Ice patch? No problem. You’ll have complete control and be skiing full speed with no worries by keeping your equipment maintained.
Step 1: Sharpen Those Edges
An integral step for any pair of skis. If you do one thing (besides waxing) this should be it.
Step 2: Detune Contact Points
Contact points are where the ski or snowboard’s nose and tail begin to lift. We typically recommend detuning this a couple inches below and above where the rocker starts.
Step 3: P-Tex Core Shots
If you have had fun on your skis, it’s likely there are a couple core shots to mended. The best way to fill these up is using p-tex, a lighter and a razor.
Part 4: Brushing
Using a wax brush before waxing to clean off any debris and after waxing to open up the ski’s structure and help with speed is an important step for any tune job.
