Jazz Aspen has pulled together a fantastic lineup this year. We’ll try to see every show during Labor Day weekend but these are a few not to miss.
Lionel Richie – Friday, August 31st
Lionel Richie is an obvious pick for FridayHe’s one of two artists in history to achieve the honor of having #1 records for nine consecutive years. With more than 100 million albums sold worldwide, an Oscar®, a Golden Globe®, four Grammy Awards®, the distinction of MusicCares person of the year in 2016, and Kennedy Center Honoree in 2017. The Tuskegee, Alabama native is a true music icon.
Jack Johnson – Saturday, September 1st
Jack Johnson needs little introduction, releasing over 7 albums since 2001 and acting as the soundtrack for countless millenials. Hailing from Hawaii, growing up surfing the breaks along the North Shore of Oahu, including famed Pipeline, he’s a true acoustic songwriter for the modern age. His surfing took second place to his music and has since sold over 25 million albums worldwide. His most recent album landed at #4 on Billboard’s best album list.
Zac Brown Band – Sunday, September 2nd
The Zac Brown Band is one of the few modern groups that defy musical boundaries. They’ve received various accolades for both country and rock, pushing the limit on their recorded albums as well as live shows. Last year they played to over 1 million fans, and their appearance at Jazz Aspen will add another few thousand to the number.
