From restaurant options to apres ski activities, families will feel right at home in Snowmass during the winter.
Even if you don’t have kids Snowmass is a great place to spend your ski vacation. There’s exceptional dining, shopping, and lodging prices are often more affordable than they are in Aspen.
Spring in Snowmass
Best for spring skiing and great deals on lodging.
Early spring in Snowmass is what many might consider the end of winter. Some also argue that it’s the best time of year for skiing in Snowmass thanks to an abundance of sunny days regularly punctuated with big late-season storms.
This is also the most kid-friendly time of year for skiing because temps don’t drop to the same uncomfortable lows that they do in the middle of winter. And, the crowds aren’t as big.
If you like to earn your turns there is still good skiing to be had and if you just want a crowd-free mountain escape with the fam, this is a great time of year to visit.
During late spring many of the shops, restaurants, and activities are closed from mid-April through early June. And, many of the trails still aren’t open for hiking and biking because they are too muddy from snowmelt. With that said, be sure to book a trip early spring and enjoy everything that Snowmass has to offer: great skiing, bluebird days, delicious dining and great shopping.
Summer in Snowmass
Best for participating in an array of Rocky Mountain events and activities.
Snowmass shines in the Summer. Especially if you and your family are looking for endless activities to fill the warm Rocky Mountain days.
There is tons of fun to be had on Snowmass mountain between the Lost Forest and all the mountain biking and hiking trails. There are also all sorts of adventure companies that will help you explore the Roaring Fork Valley and Elk Mountains surrounding Snowmass by trail, boat, horse, hot air balloon, jeep, bike and more.
