Snowmass, CO is known as a family, friendly ski resort with a variety of ski-in/ski-out options. However, several years ago the Aspen Skiing Company opened the Lost Forest. This unique venue offers fun, adventurous activities including tubing lanes and a winter roller coaster. The Breathtaker Alpine Coaster has individual cars controlled by the rider. With over one mile of forest track, the Breathtaker takes about nine minutes up and three minutes down dropping 400 vertical feet. We purchased the Lost Forest combo ticket which also included tubing. You can tube all day with your Lost Forest combo ticket and there are multiple lanes that are lift-served. I think the adults enjoyed each experience as much as the children.
To access the Lost Forest, you take the Elk Camp gondola up to the facility. The gondola was just a 3-minute walk from our accommodations at the Stonebridge Condominiums. With the convenience of ski-in/ski-out accommodations at the Stonebridge and experiencing the thrill of the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster and tubing hill, we found that Snowmass offers a lot more than great skiing.
