The Snowmass Base Village had a recent upgrade and that means more events, activities, and fun in Snowmass. Not only does that open up opportunities for dining and apés options, but there are tons of perfect family-friendly activities right at the base of Snowmass.
The additions to the Base Village are far from small, with over $600 million going into the project over ten years. It is a collaboration between three Colorado-based companies – East West Partners, Aspen Skiing Company and KSL Capital which aims to add lodging, residences and amenities to the world-class mountain and resort. The most important aspect for us, the amenities, restaurants and activities have already been implemented.
The overall goal of the project is to “create a mountain contemporary village that celebrates the surrounding landscape and outdoor lifestyles of Snowmass Village and delivers engaging, family-fun, experience-driven activities for visitors, residents, and locals, as well as ski-in/ski-out living experiences.”
Since Stonebridge is situated ideally above the Snowmass Base Village, we put together this guide with our favorite things to do in Base Village.
- The New Ice Rink – The Snowmass Base Village recently put in a fantastic ice rink with free skates and skating for the entire first season. Visitors are welcome to pop by, pick up a pair of complimentary skates and enjoy the rink!
- The Indoor Rock Wall – An incredible adventure for kids of all ages. This rock wall is a one-of-a-kind indoor experience. Despite the weather, this is always a great bet in Snowmass Village.
- The Collective – “This winter, the Collective Snowmass will open on a limited bases with a diverse winter calendar of partnerships, programming and pop-ups featuring local business and various nonprofits. Catch a yoga class with Aspen yogis Aaron King, David Richard and Alexa Guglielmi, or drop by for live music, art events and the popular Smashbox Kids Camps, running on various dates throughout the ski season.”
- Dining – There are countless dining options in the reimagined Base Village. A few of our favorites include Slice of Italy for great pizza and pasta, Sake for amazing Japanese and sushi, or Base Camp Bar and Grill for drinks and American cuisine with a view of the slopes.
