For the twelfth consecutive year now, Mammoth Fest is the perfect getaway for the entire family. Originally known as The Snowmass Chili Pepper and Brew Fest, this weekend provides a hearty escape full of chili eating, beer tasting and live music. Mammoth Fest is jam packed with activities for all ages, including a Kids Area full of games, bouncee castles and more offered at no cost to children 12 and under with an adult companion.

With 25 participating microbreweries and 70+ beers to taste, the beer sampling will perfectly compliment the unlimited amount of Colorado’s home cooked chili during it’s cook off. Once the kids are tucked away for the night, sneak off for some late night music and running Gondolas until 2:00am. COCHON HERITAGE FIRE & GRAND COCHON (June 19th, June 20th)

 

This whole live animal, outdoor fire, and wine event is the culmination of an epic 10 city culinary tour, beginning in NYC and ending in Snowmass Village! 10 chefs compete in this pork-themed showdown to see who is the best head to tail culinary master. The event also highlights the talents and artistry of top bartender, winemakers, brewers, distillers, and pastry chefs. More than 1200 lbs of heritage breed pork will be served in the form of the best 30 dishes that won their chefs passage to Snowmass for this grand finale of fire roasted goodness.

WANDERLUST (July 2nd-5th)

FREE MUSIC SERIES: DEAF CAMP BENEFIT (Thursday July 16th & Saturday July 18th)

Back for its third year, the Deaf Camp Benefit: Summer Festival features live music including headliner The Motet, a Denver based funk band. Other acts include Starwood, Rich Ganson, Jaden Carlson Band, and a special tribute to John Denver! Established in the 60’s by John Denver, Jimmy Buffet, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, the Deaf Camp Picnic was brought back as the Deaf Camp Benefit in 2013. Have some fun in the sun on the slopes of Snowmass (right in front of Stonebridge Condominiums!), dance with new friends, and enjoy rocking out for a great cause. All proceeds from this event go to Aspen Camp, a 501 (c)3 non-profit which honors and supports the Deaf and hard of hearing community through education, experiences, and networking.

COLORADO SCOTTISH FESTIVAL & ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGHLAND GAMES (August 1-2)

If you have a zest for bagpipes, kilted men, and Scotch-Irish music, dance, and food, this is the event for you! Attractions include classic British cars, the Ladies of the Festival, the Bonny Knees Contest, and the caber toss (it’s a telephone pole!) among other Highland games. For those that enjoy a challenge and good sweat, Tough Mudder is for you. Gather up a team and work together to conquer on of the nation’s most challenging obstacle courses. At over 8,000 ft in elevation, this not only offers a more difficult quest mentally and physically, but is one of, if not the most, scenic courses on this tour.
