Not everyone visiting Snowmass comes to hit the slopes. Perhaps snowboarding isn’t your thing, or maybe you’ve skied four days in a row and need an alternate activity for your fifth vacation day. Good news! The Aspen Snowmass area is chock full of fun, family friendly activities that don’t require funny boots. Be sure to ask your helpful concierge at Stonebridge Condominiums for additional information or directions to these activities.
Snow Tubing at Elk Camp
The tubing center at Elk Camp includes four lift-served tubing lanes, and is open to both adults and children! Perfect for an afternoon of family fun. Snow tubing sessions run daily from 1:00 – 2:00pm and 2:15 – 3:15pm. If you don’t want to miss a day of skiing or riding, no worries. Additional sessions are available every Friday at Ullr Nights from 6:00 – 7:00pm and 7:15 – 8:15pm.
Ice Skating
The ice skating rink at the Snowmass Rodeo Grounds on Brush Creek Road offers another wintertime activity that’s fun for all ages. This free, community supported rink is open daily, with skate rentals available on a first come, first serve basis. A full schedules of times and availabilities can be found here.
Snowshoeing
Experience the beauty of Snowmass at a relaxed pace on snowshoes. You can follow paths, forage your own trail, or sign up for guided tours with a naturalist. Visit the Snowmass Cross Country Center for equipment rental and free access to over 60 miles of trails.
Guided tours with ACES naturalists on Aspen and Snowmass mountains take place twice daily, at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. For those looking for a half or 3/4 day expedition, Blazing Adventures tours the Government Trail, the Ashcroft ghost town, and more.
