There’s no question, we’re a little biased, but Snowmass has so many features that benefit snowboarders, it had to make the list for best resorts to ride in Colorado. For starters, Snowmass has every type of terrain imaginable – from the easiest beginner slopes to extreme double black diamonds, chutes, cliffs and all. They also boast one of the best terrain parks in the country, from beginner rails to professional sized jumps. There’s even the “Boneyard,” a few jumps and rails that have already been ridden this October. Snowmass is both steep, yet suitable for snowboarders with plenty of easy traversing and awesome terrain access.
Buttermilk
For the park riders, learners and powder hounds alike, Buttermilk is a hidden gem. Just minutes away from either Snowmass or Aspen, this resort also offers one of the best terrain parks in the world. Home of the X Games, beginners and pros alike will find their the perfect park. When it snows, most head to one of the three surrounding resorts, little do many know Buttermilk offers great pow stashes across the mountain, you just have to know where to look!
Crested Butte
A big mountain for big mountain snowboarders. Plenty of good beginner terrain as well, but the reason to snowboard at Crested Butte is the unparalleled expert terrain. Big mountain cliffs, drops, chutes, and plenty of powder.
Silverton
For those seeking a backcountry experience, with the safety of patrolled terrain and a guide, Silverton is your best option. An expert snowboarders paradise, Silverton has some big lines waiting to be conquered. They offer heli-skiing, lift access riding and plenty of split boarding and hiking.
Breckenridge
A classic for snowboarders coming from Denver. Breckenridge offers great terrain, ideal for snowboarders with easy traversing options and little hiking required to reach lifts. The park is another one of Colorado’s greats. The close proximity to Denver makes for quite the crowd, but the convenience catches most boarders in the Front Range region.
