After traveling with the whole clan, adding après ski activities might seem like a stretch yet it doesn’t have to be! There is a variety of fun, family-friendly activities accessible in the Snowmass area that won’t break the bank, or your back after a long day riding the mountain.
1. The Anderson Ranch Arts Center, conveniently located in Snowmass Village, hold a variety of events where you can visit the galleries and art studios, which are open for viewing or listen to artist lectures. Hot beverages are available in the ArtWorks Gift Store, which has unique finds for adults and children alike.
2. Explore the past at the Ice Age Discovery Center! Make a stop at the Snowmass Mall on your way down Fanny Hill to learn about Snowmass’ prehistory, touch mastodon bones and mammoth teeth, and learn about how the bone preservation process works. After you’re an expert on the Ice Age, grab your skis or snowboard and glide down to your home away from home at Stonebridge Condominiums.
3. Bowling isn’t free, but Slopeside Lanes still cuts a good deal at $15 per person walk-in rates and options for party pricing. Eight lanes, cushy leather couches, TVs including two 300″ projection screens, and hand tossed wood fired pizzas keep kids engaged, while the adults can choose to enjoy a specialty après ski cocktail at the full bar.
4. The Snowmass Recreation Center is $10 per person for drop-in basketball, pickleball, and soccer games for those 16 and older, with day camps for kids.
